Lauren Masi, PT, DPT, OCS, ATC
Owner, Clinic Director, Physical Therapist
Lauren Masi, PT, DPT, OCS, ATC, brings her extensive physical therapy experience to the East Bay area as owner and clinical director at Lafayette Physical Therapy/Bay Area Physical Therapy.
Lauren received her bachelor’s degree in physiological science from the University of California, Los Angeles. She went on to receive her master’s degree in physical therapy from California State University, Northridge, and her transitional doctorate at the University of St. Augustine in Florida.
Throughout her career, Lauren has trained in multiple physical therapy applications, such as Mulligan and Paris techniques, spinal stabilization for injured athletes, myofascial release, and spinal mobilization. She also has experience with extremity mobilization, visceral mobilization, external pelvic health therapy, and vestibular therapy.
Lauren is committed to continued education and completed courses focusing on shoulder injuries, baseball biomechanics, visceral mobilization, and vestibular rehabilitation. She has also trained in golf mechanics relating to wellness and injury prevention in the golf swing. Using this additional sports training, Lauren partners with the California Interscholastic Federation North Coast Section to provide medical coverage as an athletic trainer for high school sports teams. She is completing her residency in Electrodiagnostics and Fellowship in musculoskeletal ultrasound.
At Lafayette Physical Therapy, Lauren specializes in operative and nonoperative orthopedic injuries and sports medicine with an emphasis in prevention and rehabilitation. She takes a special interest in surgical techniques and how they affect rehabilitation. When working with patients, Lauren enjoys creating individually tailored treatment plans that combine manual therapy, exercise, and wellness as well as postural and prevention education.
Lauren is a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist with the American Physical Therapy Association. She is also a certified athletic trainer. When she’s not working with patients, Lauren enjoys horseback riding and spending time with her family and dogs.

Naomi Schambelan, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
Naomi has advanced training in a multimodal approach to rehabilitation, with a focus in manual therapy techniques, strengthened by completing a wide variety of continuing education courses including Mulligan, PRI, IPA, FMT, SFMA and S1-Spinal Evaluation and Manipulation. She has also contributed academically to the Physical Therapy community, having published her doctorate thesis “Determining The Most Effective Feedback Method in Teaching Subjects to Selectively Activate the Transverses Abdominis: A Randomized Controlled Trial” in the Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Practice journal in 2014! Naomi is trained in Pilates and enjoys incorporating this into her method of treatment.

Naomi enjoys working with a variety of patient populations with orthopedic injuries and related dysfunctions including both operative and non-operative treatments for the spine and extremities. She believes the best rehab comes from tailoring treatments to the individual and empowering patients through education, postural corrections, and exercise to overcome injuries and help them reach their highest potential.

Gary Corso, PT, BA, MS
Physical Therapist
Gary is a Physical Therapist from NY with over 38 years of experience in orthopedic and sport physical therapy where he owned and operated three physical therapy clinics. He has extensive training in orthopedic management and treatment of the injured athlete, Soft tissue and manual therapy of the upper and lower extremity, post-op surgical care including joint replacements. He developed a new special testing technique to assist in the assessment of shoulder impingement syndrome and had it published in The Journal of Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy titled Impingement Relief Test: An Adjunctive Procedure to Traditional Assessment of Shoulder Impingement Syndrome.

Gary graduated from the CUNY Hunter College School of Health Sciences Physical Therapy Program and was a Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) from the American Physical Therapy Association. Gary has taken coursework towards an Advanced Masters in Orthopedics and has taught many physical therapy courses at Touro College in Long Island, NY. Gary also has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Physical Education, and a Master’s of Science degree in Special Education. He was also a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) from the National Athletic Trainers Association. Gary has treated many athletes of all ages and all levels of sports from professional athletes to children who play Little League and youth soccer. He specializes in individual sport specific exercise programs in combination with hands on soft tissue and joint mobilization techniques to enhance and hasten the athletes return to play.
Hobbies
Gary has three children and recently moved to California to be with his wife and her two children. He has one grandson and another coming very soon! A former college baseball and soccer player, Gary enjoys playing all sports but is an avid tennis player and golfer. He enjoys hiking, music, trivia and reading.

Megan Giambastini, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
Megan loves working with patients of all ages and abilities and especially enjoys working with shoulder, knee, ankle, and post-operative cases.

Andrew Ezer, CMT

Andrew has been practicing massage for more than 20 years and enjoys working with a variety of clients who are motivated to improve their physical wellbeing. He has worked extensively with competitive athletes and pre/post operative surgery patients. He has extensive experience in deep tissue and sports massage.

Benedicte "Bene" Streubel, CMT
Certified Massage Therapist

Bene was trained in Pilates and Thai massage before her most recent certification in the US. She enjoys working with athletes who are looking for injury treatment, restoration and maintenance. She regularly works with clients who are experiencing pain, stiffness, or soreness post-surgery or post injury. She has extensive experience in clinical deep tissue, sports massage, and cupping.

She completed her Massage Training at the McKinnon Massage School however began her journey into bodywork while in Thailand at the Wat Po Thai Massage School.
Hobbies
Bene enjoys outdoor sports, nature and spending time with her family and friends. She loves to travel and discover new places as well as going back home to visit her family and friends in Europe.
